Look for the double canner doors
We're inside the historic Cannery building at 380 E 2000 N — the entrance is the double canner doors, and almost everyone walks past them the first time. Once you're in, we're easy to spot. If you're circling the building, call us at 801-510-1754 and we'll wave you in.

A lot of shops sell only the finished thing. We keep the unfinished side too, because half the pleasure is in a piece that still looks like it came out of the ground. What's on the shelf changes constantly — call 801-510-1754 and we'll tell you what's actually in before you make the drive.
Raw stone
Unpolished material, the way it was pulled. Good for people who want to cut, tumble or wire-wrap it themselves, and good for anyone who just prefers the honest surface to a buffed one.
Specimens on matrix
Crystals still attached to the host rock they grew in. These are the pieces that read as geology rather than decoration, and no two are the same shape — which is exactly why you have to see them in person.
Clusters & the rarer end
The pieces that don't come back once they're gone. If you're hunting something specific — a stone, a size, a formation — tell us and we'll keep an eye out rather than shrug.
Why the north end matters
Weber County has a north half.
Most rock and mineral shopping in this county happens in Ogden proper, and if you live north of the river that is a drive through town for a fifteen-minute errand. We're at 380 E 2000 N, which puts us minutes from Pleasant View, Harrisville, Farr West and Plain City, and about ten from downtown Ogden if you're coming the other way.
It also means we're the closest shop to the canyon and the north-county trailheads, which matters more than it sounds if you're stopping in on the way back from a day out with a bucket in the truck.

Utah is a rockhounding state and people turn up things they can't identify all the time. Bring it by — genuinely, we'd rather see it than not. We won't always know, and we will say so when we don't rather than guess at you, but between the shelf and the reference books it's usually a good ten minutes.
A note on what we can't do: we don't appraise, and we won't put a number on something you found and are hoping is valuable. That is a different job and it needs someone qualified to do it. What we can do is tell you what it probably is and what makes it interesting.
If you're heading out to collect rather than coming back from it, check the current rules first — Utah's collecting areas sit on a mix of BLM, state and private land, each with its own limits, and those change. The Utah Geological Survey and the BLM both publish up-to-date guidance.

- Both. Raw stone and specimens still on their matrix, as well as clusters, towers, amethyst and jewelry. Stock moves, so call 801-510-1754 and we'll look while you're on the line.
- Can I bring in something I found?
- Please do. We enjoy it. We'll tell you what we think it is and say so plainly when we don't know — but we don't appraise and we won't put a value on it.
- How far are you from Pleasant View or Harrisville?
- Minutes. We're on 2000 N in North Ogden, which is the closest shop of this kind to the north end of Weber County, and about ten minutes from downtown Ogden.
- Do you buy rocks or minerals?
- Ask — it depends entirely on the piece and what we're short of. Call before you load the truck.

- Tuesday 3–6, Wednesday 12–5, Thursday and Friday 12–5:30, Saturday 11–5. Closed Sunday and Monday.
